In 1969, Stan Baldwin founded State Industries in Winnipeg, Canada, with a focus on manufacturing polyurethane parts for the Canadian mining industry. Recognizing the increasing demand for durable cast polyurethane elastomer products, the company expanded its services to cater to agriculture, automotive, and mining sectors.
In 1975, State Industries relocated to a larger facility on Wall Street in Winnipeg to accommodate its growing operations.
In 1992, under the leadership of Payam Towfigh, State Industries entered into a joint venture with RollerBlade Inc. to manufacture patent-pending in-line skate wheels for global markets. This strategic partnership propelled State Industries to become a prominent manufacturer of wheels in North America, with a state-of-the-art automated factory in Winnipeg.
To meet the evolving needs of its customers, State Industries established a CNC division in 2007, offering waterjet cutting and CNC machining services for a wide range of materials, including UHMW, Teflon, Polycarbonate, acrylic, rubber, metals, granite, and more.
In 2009, State Industries relocated to a new facility with over 40,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space, enabling the company to efficiently serve customers across the entire North American continent.
Due to its versatility and wide range of engineering properties, urethane has been used to solve many problems including vibration, isolation, shock absorption, electrical isolation, and abrasion resistance.
Urethane provides excellent wear characteristics as well as resistance to chemical attack and corrosion which has rendered it an asset to the agricultural manufacturing industry.
In the harsh mining environment, many demands are placed on materials. Urethane has proven over and over to be tough enough to withstand even the most difficult environments.
State Industries manufactures a range of seals with different geometries and formulations for several applications. For high-temperature applications where polyurethane cannot withstand the temperatures, cast silicone has proven to be very effective.
Our grommets are designed for ease of insertion, while protecting the wires or hoses that passes through them from sharp edges in wall openings which have proven successful for construction projects.
State Industries has demonstrated the technical ability to produce components which meet exacting specifications and quality expectations of a variety of sectors. Click here to see other examples of our work.
Polyurethane elastomers are one of the toughest materials that can be used in variety of applications where conventional plastics, rubber, and metals cannot perform satisfactorily.
If you are unsure whether polyurethane is the right solution for you, feel free to contact us through the 'Contact Us' section. Our highly experienced and trained team can help provide the answers you need.
With no heat-affected zone to damage the material, the ability to cut materials over 1” thick, all while having great edge definition, waterjet cutting is ideal for producing high quality parts in low volumes with little requirement for post-processing.
A durometer measures resistance to penetration of an indenter point onto the polyurethane surface. Scales on the durometer read values of 0 to 100. Two scales are commonly used for polyurethane:
Our CNC Waterjet machines can accommodate cutting jobs for industrial components from metal gears, tooling, jigs, to intricate shapes cut out of plastic and anything in between. We can do flooring vents cut from wood, ceramic, porcelain. Need some custom cut roofing shingles? How about rubber gaskets? No problem, we can cut if all for you.
