In 1969, Stan Baldwin founded State Industries in Winnipeg, Canada, with a focus on manufacturing polyurethane parts for the Canadian mining industry. Recognizing the increasing demand for durable cast polyurethane elastomer products, the company expanded its services to cater to agriculture, automotive, and mining sectors.
In 1975, State Industries relocated to a larger facility on Wall Street in Winnipeg to accommodate its growing operations.
In 1992, under the leadership of Payam Towfigh, State Industries entered into a joint venture with RollerBlade Inc. to manufacture patent-pending in-line skate wheels for global markets. This strategic partnership propelled State Industries to become a prominent manufacturer of wheels in North America, with a state-of-the-art automated factory in Winnipeg.
To meet the evolving needs of its customers, State Industries established a CNC division in 2007, offering waterjet cutting and CNC machining services for a wide range of materials, including UHMW, Teflon, Polycarbonate, acrylic, rubber, metals, granite, and more.
In 2009, State Industries relocated to a new facility with over 40,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space, enabling the company to efficiently serve customers across the entire North American continent.
Due to its versatility and wide range of engineering properties, urethane has been used to solve many problems including vibration, isolation, shock absorption, electrical isolation, and abrasion resistance.
Urethane provides excellent wear characteristics as well as resistance to chemical attack and corrosion which has rendered it an asset to the agricultural manufacturing industry.
In the harsh mining environment, many demands are placed on materials. Urethane has proven over and over to be tough enough to withstand even the most difficult environments.
State Industries manufactures a range of seals with different geometries and formulations for several applications. For high-temperature applications where polyurethane cannot withstand the temperatures, cast silicone has proven to be very effective.
Our grommets are designed for ease of insertion, while protecting the wires or hoses that passes through them from sharp edges in wall openings which have proven successful for construction projects.
